On November 11, 2024, FBLA program members and Chase County Schools hosted a Veteran's Day Program to honor all who have served and currently serve our country. When getting ready for the Veterans Day program, middle and high school FBLA members work together to celebrate local veterans. Every year, the FBLA members assemble a program to honor the veterans. This year's program was slightly different from the past years, using the new boards in the gym to project a video of students interviewing the veterans. Students also get the chance to submit an essay to the ladies auxiliary. There is a category for both levels, high school being the "Voice of Democracy" and middle school being the "Patriots Pen." This year's middle school winner was Amelia Russel, and for high school, Gavin Wisnieski. “I enjoyed doing it and being a part of the program for the veterans,” Wisnieski said, “I was a little nervous at first, but I’m really glad I did it.” Every year, the FBLA changes a few things about the programs. This year, they had a flag-folding ceremony and shared the different ways to honor the flag. As always, the program served as a reminder of the importance of community, respect, and remembrance for those who have defended our freedom. The 2024 Veterans Day Program at Chase County Schools successfully honored local veterans, offering a meaningful way to recognize the sacrifices of those who serve.
