The annual National Honors Society Induction Ceremony took place on October 2nd in the auditorium. Welcoming 11 new members, the auditorium was packed with new and returning members and very proud parents. Established in 1929, the National Honor Society has been recognizing students who have excelled in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Seniors will receive cords at graduation, recognizing their excellence in these areas. Senior Ava McNair says, “Being a part of NHS all three years has not only helped me as a leader but has been beneficial when applying for scholarships. I would definitely tell anyone considering applying to just do it; it will help you in the long run.” There are currently 37 members of the Chase County National Honor Society who display these qualities of leadership in and outside of school.
