During testing we found that our motor and motor mount were too large causing the car to hi-center. After discovering this problem we fabricated a piece of metal that raised the back end to the needed height.
When reading over the safety rules we realized that we needed to take special precautions dealing with the protection of our feet. Our solution to this problem was to use the existing frame work and replicate the original piece and connect the two with vertical struts. Coincidentally the final product resembled a cattle guard off an older model train.
We’ve come across technical difficulties when dealing with the roll cage protection due to the size of our drivers. To fix this problem we have had to make special fabrications. For example, we took measurements to ensure that the side impact protection of our roll cage would be wide enough to fit the driver’s shoulders.
To date we have our seat pan and motor mount attached to the frame. We are currently working on roll cage and driver protection. Once completed, we will begin to work on wiring and testing
